We've moved… to a castle

We are excited that Lake Solutions has moved to offices within the historical Hever Castle estate in Kent

We are excited to announce that Lake Solutions has moved its headquarters to historical Hever in Kent. Our new offices are based within the Hever Castle Golf Club complex, which forms part of the famous Hever Castle estate. We are only a mile from the Castle’s main entrance and on the edge of the 27-hole golf course and, while the Castle might date back some 700 years, our new offices boast excellent facilities and fast broadband.

The original medieval defensive castle at Hever, with its gatehouse and walled bailey, was built in 1270. In the 15th and 16th centuries it was home to the Boleyn family, who added the Tudor dwelling within the walls. In 1533, Anne Boleyn became King Henry VIII’s second wife and Queen of England for just 1,000 days.

Hever later passed into the ownership of another of Henry VIII’s wives, Anne of Cleves, and from 1557 onwards it was owned by a number of families. Then, gradually it fell into decline before William Waldorf Astor invested time, money and imagination in restoring the Castle. He commissioned the ’Tudor Village’, now called the ‘Astor Wing’ and the construction of the magnificent gardens and lake.

While we’d like to say that King Henry VIII himself would be found playing a round outside our offices, this wouldn’t be true… It was in the 1920s that golf first featured on the estate, when a private nine-hole course was built for Astor’s personal enjoyment. This original course survived until the Second World War. The present day Championship Course was created in 1992 and the Princes nine hole course opened six years later.

Covid-19 restrictions allowing, we are looking forward to welcoming visitors to our offices. We have lots of parking and the Golf Course has a wonderful café.
