On the crest of a wave

Hot on the heels of being named as a leader in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for web content management for the ninth year running, Sitecore has now been recognised as a leader in ‘The Forrester Wave: Web Content Management Systems Q4 2018’ report.

Sitecore was up against 14 competitors – described as ‘the most significant vendors’ – and there were 26 criteria. Sitecore received the highest possible scores in eight categories: web experience management, cloud, structure, site search, commerce application, service partner programme, developer programme and product customer count.

Research and advisory firm, Forrester Research, works with business and technology leaders to develop customer-obsessed strategies that drive growth. Forrester’s insights are grounded in annual surveys of more than 675,000 consumers and business leaders worldwide.

The Forrester Wave is a guide for buyers considering their purchasing options in a technology marketplace. It represents a unique way of comparing vendors, using fully-accessible, transparent criteria to score each industry’s top vendors, then displaying them according to strength of current product offerings, strategy and market size.

In this report, Forrester states: “Sitecore has made dramatic shifts in the past 18 months, including new executive leadership, a full embrace of Azure deployment, a return to mid-market focus, partnership with Salesforce Marketing Cloud and an acquisition of a digital asset management (DAM) provider [Stylelabs].”

In addition, Forrester notes: “Sitecore Experience Manager has recently brought CRM integration improvements, new AI capabilities, and Sitecore Experience Accelerator (SXA) upgrades. Sitecore’s current capabilities for developers are largely on par with expectations, but marketing features to integrate more content repositories via their Data Exchange Framework, and historically strong marketing features for personalisation stand out.”
Ryan Donovan, chief technology officer at Sitecore, says: “Digital marketing leaders are increasingly looking to web CMS platforms as the lynchpin that connects their most strategic customer experience and digital transformation initiatives. Our customers rely on Sitecore Experience Platform to help them deliver a consistent, personalised, and valuable experience across every customer touchpoint. We believe this report reflects the trust that Sitecore customers and partners place in our breadth of capabilities and go-to-market strategy, which also is showed by the market-beating double-digit growth we experienced in the last year.”

He adds: “We are extremely proud of our position as a leader in ‘The Forrester Wave: Web Content Management Systems Q4 2018’.  We believe that our ongoing focus on innovation has been recognised and we look forward to continuing to deliver even more enhancements in the months and years to come.”
